AMACO's High Fire glazes are compounded to match porcelain and stoneware bodies. Matt and textured glazes suitable for stoneware and transparent gloss glazes for translucent porcelain are included in this series. The samples shown are fired to a cone 5 oxidation. AMACO's high fire glazes will work in a reduction firing with different results. We recommend experimenting to acheive different affects.
The Popeian Ash glaze series have a unique formula that produces a wiggly design pattern as they flow on the piece. This series has to be fired to cone 5-6 in an electric kiln. Apply these glazes by brushing or dipping. Taper down to one coat at the bottom of the piece, to give room for the glaze to run.
